Mechanical Design Engineer

Status of the role: 4 days a week 7am-5pm Mon-Thurs
This exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer involves creating detailed 3D models, general arrangement drawings, and design-for-manufacture outputs to ensure efficient project delivery for a worldwide manufacturer of protection systems. Working across all stages of the product lifecycle, you will contribute to innovative designs while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations. This role is ideal for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in industrial sheet or steel fabrications. If you thrive on innovation, have a keen eye for detail, and are comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders, this position will offer professional growth and exciting challenges. Candidates will have nuclear or defence background with BIM or Revit and Sheet Metal experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D models and 2D drawings in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to meet project specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with product assurance and health & safety regulations, including CDM standards.
- Collaborate with analysis engineers to align theoretical and practical design outputs.
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute to research and development initiatives.
- Attend design and manufacturability reviews, effectively communicating design intent.
In return you will receive a base of between 32k-39k. depending upon experience.
