PTSD Support Assistant - Bolton - ASAP Are you looking for work in the Education sector? Are you looking for work in Bolton? Do you have a passion for working with young people with SEMH or PTSD? Are you strong with positive behaviour management? Do you hold a valid driving licence? We are currently looking for a Bolton based experienced Teaching Assistant to support a student with additional needs due to PTSD or other trauma, this can result in them displaying challenging behaviour at times. You will be working in a mainstream secondary school and supporting a student on a 1:1, full time basis. The role will initially be for 12 weeks, and will likely to continue until the end of the current academic year. If you have experience in the following then you would be ideal for this role. Children in Looked After Care PTSD Anxiety Exclusion Trauma EBD You must have: Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous The school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar roles Confidence to make decisions Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with the students Empathy and understanding Willingness to enhance skills with professional training and development This is a great opportunity, to help enrich and develop vulnerable young peoples lives.
