SEMH Teaching Assistant - Bolton - February start

Do you have a passion for working with children with SEMH (social, emotional, mental health needs)?

Do you have the ability to emotionally support children who are from vulnerable backgrounds and circumstances?

Are you a resilient character with positive behaviour management?

We are currently looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant at an alternative provision in Bolton, to deliver person centred support to individuals who present high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions and mental health problems. You will be working with children and young people who need 1:1 support for multiple reasons, such as:

Children in Looked After CareAnxietyExclusionSpeech and language difficultiesPhysical and mental health issues, disabilities and learning difficulties

To be considered for this role you must have:

Experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviourExperience of de-escalation training would be advantageousThe school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar rolesConfidence to make decisionsExcellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with the studentsEmpathy and understandingWillingness to enhance skills with professional training and developmentThis is a great opportunity, to help enrich and develop vulnerable young peoples lives. TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

GCSE English/Maths at grade A to C or equivalent.Commitment to all CPD offered.Team Teach training would be beneficial to this role, however this can be provided for free.

Hold Right to Work in the UKHold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new applicationProvide a minimum of two professional related referencesProvide a full CV from high school to present with gaps explainedHave a full driving licence & access to a vehicle
