The Role: Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEN Support

This Teaching Assistant role involves working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 2 pupil with ASD. The pupil is mostly non-verbal but has some communication ability. Your role as a Teaching Assistant will be to support their learning, encourage engagement, and help them develop their communication skills in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with ASD and SPL&C needs
  • Use alternative communication strategies to support the pupil's development
  • Foster a calm and structured learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to implement tailored support plans
  • Assist with classroom activities and encourage social interaction

Requirements for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting children with ASD and communication needs

  • Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
