Are you experienced in credit hire and passionate about delivering exceptional service? Our client are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Credit Hire File Handler to join their team.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to investigate complex credit hire claims from both a tactical and strategic standpoint. As a File Handler, you will conduct in-depth and technical investigations on claims submitted by designated opponents, with a focus on claims up to a value of £25,000.

Joining their team will provide you with an incredible opportunity to gain further experience in investigating and reducing credit hire claims for our Insurer clients.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Education: Minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent, with a degree preferred
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Effective planning and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent verbal and active listening abilities
  • Strong telephone negotiation skills
  • Adherence to work processes and strategies
  • Ability to recognise and respond with sensitivity and tact
  • Effective decision-making and composure under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and experience with Case Management Systems preferred
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a credit hire environment

Technical knowledge to be developed:

  • Understanding of Pre-Proceedings Credit Hire
  • Familiarity with the life cycle of a file
  • Knowledge of common law and litigation principles
  • Comprehension of costs and protective offers
  • Ability to prepare a case for litigation

Personal Development:

This role offers an opportunity to develop a range of legal skills under supervision.

The File Handler's aptitude and desire to transition to different business units (such as litigated fast track, fraud, or multi-track work) will determine further career progression.

Working Hours:

35 hours per week

Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. This is a hybrid role working 1 day in the office and 4 days from home.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience handling credit hire files with evidence of managing own case load
  • Education: Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, with a degree or LPC preferred
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Effective planning and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent verbal and active listening abilities
