Connex Education are working with a successful primary school in Bolton, who are recruiting for a passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), to work at their school on a full-time basis.

Assignment Details

This supportive primary school in Bolton are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and driven HLTA to support across Reception, Year 1, and Year 2. You will play a crucial role in supporting the class teacher, enhancing the early learning experience for all pupils, and delivering high-quality support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This full-time position will start in September 2024 and will be ongoing until December 2024, with the possibility of an extension into the new year, for a candidate who is the right fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging and effective lessons
  • Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND, tailoring strategies to meet individual needs
  • Deliver the Read Write Inc phonics to a small group to support literacy development
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Lead small group activities and interventions to reinforce learning
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
  • Contribute to the overall development and well-being of the children

Person Specification

  • Holds experience with children aged 3-11-years either within the classroom or a similar setting
  • Hold HLTA status or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in supporting children with SEND
  • Strong ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to provide a new one
