Premier Education are working with a fantastic primary school in the Westhoughton area, who wish to appoint a teaching assistant to join their hard working, successful and forward thinking school. The role is supporting a number of children in KS2 who struggle with the daily routine of school life, and often exhibit challenging behaviour so need keeping on task and regulated.

The successful applicants will have proven experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour and have a range of strategies to promote good behaviour and establish a purposeful learning environment. Excellent organisation and communication skills to deal with both children and adults are essential along with the ability to work under supervision and as a team member.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has knowledge of SEMH and/or a willingness to learn more
  • Be able to work with parents of this pupil and communicate on a daily basis with them
  • Are willing to put the needs of the children at the centre of all they do
  • Have a good attitude and are keen to develop their existing skills and learn new ones
  • Are willing to contribute to the wider life of the school and the parish
  • Committed to maintaining the ethos of the school and support our Mission Statement and aims
  • A team player with the ability to develop strong relationships with parents, pupils, staff and outside agencies
