Lead Lawyer- Large & Complex Loss

To join the Property Risks and Coverage Team (PRC) at Keoghs LLP as an Associate, working with Andrew Temperley as lead lawyer in the Large and Complex Loss team in Bolton (L&CL). Reporting to Andrew Temperley as lead lawyer. Working with Andrew Temperley and taking a joint client-facing lead in the ongoing development of the PRC L&CL offering to both commercial property and household insurers with a focus on coverage including First Party Fraud. 

• Regular high-level client relationship role, oversight and management of service delivery and quality to Key Clients, MI supervision and delivery as well as the development and enhancement of the Keoghs service to include regular workshops, training and seminars as required. All with the required structural and personal support.
• Handling a case load of large and complex PRC files for Key Clients. This will be a mix of coverage, liability and recovery work required to develop and cement the relationship with clients for whom you and Andrew Temperley are the main point of contact.
• Working with 1 assistant solicitor in Andrew Temperley’s team with own case load of approximately [40] cases. 
• Objective for own performance to be agreed, but likely to be: individual chargeable hours and assistant chargeable hours.

Working Hours  35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Primary location for this role is the Parklands Office, Bolton

Essential Skills and Attributes:

• Previous experience in insurance, property and coverage.
• Previous claims handling and litigation experience specifically relating to Recoveries
• A working knowledge and understanding of the Household and Commercial Property recoveries
• An ability to prioritise workload
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to work with case management systems
• The personal skills to deal with such work as major and expensive litigation involving liaison with senior claims handlers
• Associate level of qualification required

Desirable

• Previous experience in managing people.
