NDA File Handler Enforcement

JOB PURPOSE:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our division - we are looking for an experienced file handler to join our growing team focusing on recoveries and enforcement action. Whilst based within Keoghs’ Counter Fraud Department, the successful candidate will gain exposure to instructions from across the business on a variety of matters.

The role involves working on Enforcement instructions on behalf of a wide range of insurance clients. The File Handler will have ownership of their own files as well as carrying out actions and providing advice on ad hoc instructions.

The work handled by the File Handler will include, amongst others:

  • Strategy reviews, setting and advising and reporting to the Insurer client
  • Drafting enforcement Court documentation
  • Working with Counsel and agents where necessary to obtain the required outcome
  • Carrying out asset checks and preparing strategic reports as to recovery options
  • Liaising with other insurers/third parties
  • Liaising with debtors / their representatives
  • Negotiating settlements
  • Prepare appropriate settlement documentation
  • Monitoring agreed repayment plans and taking appropriate action where necessary

  • Detailed review and analysis of evidence throughout the life of the case
  • Setting and agreeing the case strategy on files with clients

  • Handling files in accordance with agreed client guidelines
  • Ensuring maximum client satisfaction on each case
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of all client and internal MI
  • Achieving both client and internal KPIs where applicable

Technical excellence

  • Reporting to Insurer client throughout the lifetime of the claim
  • Liaising with all appropriate involvements on the case in order to carry out agreed investigations to meet the set strategy
  • Compliance with all procedural requirements
  • Achieving, the best result in recovery enforcement for the client.
  • Delegating tasks as appropriate to assistants to take the case forward
  • Timely and accurate maintenance of all Case Management Systems from opening to closure
  • Adherence to file management policies
  • Complying with the SRA Standards & Regulations

Financial Excellence

  • Be commercially aware, by working in an efficient and effective manner
  • Commercial awareness so as to retain profitability

WORKING HOURS

35 hours per week

Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch.

Primary location for this role is Parklands, Bolton office. We are agile workers with office attendance at least 1 day per week.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Established interest in civil litigation law either through further education (e.g. LPC or ILEX) or experience within a process driven legal environment
  • An understanding of insurance litigation practice and processes and working knowledge of the CPR where applicable to role
  • Experience of drafting court documents and understanding of processes
  • Good telephone and communication skills with people at all levels inside and outside the business
  • An ability to organise and prioritise tasks using initiative
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to re-prioritise and delegate effectively when required
  • Good Literacy and IT skills
  • Good team worker with the flexibility to do what is required to get a result and ensure client service levels are met
  • Ability to work effectively within the Keoghs Shared Behaviour framework
