Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer looking for a new challenge in the automotive sector? Our client, a leading automotive company based in Bolton, is seeking a Senior /Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company on the verge of doubling in size over the next few years. You will have the chance to lead and shape the future of their IT infrastructure while working in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities: As the Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, while leading a technician on-site and collaborating with the wider European IT team on various projects. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Server Management:
    Ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the company's server infrastructure. This includes monitoring server performance, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine updates and patches. You will also be involved in planning and implementing server upgrades to support the company's growth.

  • Network Administration:
    Managing and optimizing the company's network infrastructure. This includes configuring and maintaining firewalls, switches, and routers, as well as ensuring network security and efficiency. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving network issues to minimize downtime.

  • PC Updates and Maintenance:
    Overseeing the deployment of updates and patches across all company workstations. You will ensure that PCs are running efficiently and securely, coordinating with the technician on-site to carry out hardware and software upgrades when necessary.

  • IT Security:
    Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect the company's IT systems and data. This includes managing firewalls, antivirus software, and conducting regular security audits to identify and address potential vulnerabilities. You will work closely with the European IT team to ensure compliance with company-wide security policies and standards.

  • Project Involvement:
    Collaborating with the European IT team on infrastructure projects, ranging from new system implementations to network expansions. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of these projects on time and within budget.

  • Team Leadership:
    Leading and mentoring one on-site IT technician, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the successful execution of daily tasks and larger projects.
