Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Production Test Engineer to join their core team in Bolton. This is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative defence and missile industry projects. Your primary responsibility in this role will be to perform production tests and diagnostics of complex weapons at the system and subsystem levels.

What we're looking for:

  • HNC/HND (Electronics) Level of Qualifications or equivalent, plus good experience in digital & analogue electronics manufacture and testing.
  • Comprehension of measurement and testing principles, as well as the equipment associated with them, is essential.
  • Having a grasp of RF and microwave technology at the subsystem level would be beneficial.
  • Environmental testing, including Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), would be beneficial knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to analyse information, pay attention to details, and solve problems effectively are essential.
  • Manual handling and ESD training.

What you'll get to do as a Production Test Engineer - Electronics:

The candidate's responsibilities will include testing complex electronic and electrical equipment and diagnosing production test failures down to the component level. They will need to identify corrective action promptly, ensuring that Manufacturing can continue production in line with the programme. Additionally, they will be required to assess issues with test equipment and direct support services to resolve equipment failures. The candidate will also evaluate technical issues and propose investigations, corrective actions, and process improvements. During Defect Review Board meetings, the Test Engineering representative will ensure that equipment progress and quality notifications are handled efficiently towards corrective action.

Get up to £1,600 a month for accommodation if you do not live within 30 miles from Bolton.
