My client is seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis reporting to the Payroll Manager.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage payroll variations in accordance with regulations and current legislation.
  • Produce and submit monthly and annual payroll returns, including FPS submissions and P11D’s.
  • Assist with the processing of payments for HMRC, pension companies, and other statutory payroll deductions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of the payrolls.
  • Undertake manual payroll calculations as per current legislation and manage payroll variations.
  • Maintain accurate personal payroll records and handle general and complex payroll queries.
  • Ensure payments related to PAYE, pension contributions, and other deductions are processed within deadlines.
  • Process BACS files, cheques, and faster payments from the accounting system.
  • Assist in the annual audit and maintain documented policies and procedures for payroll activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven knowledge and experience of payroll legislation management within a complex or similar organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising and good people skills
  • Ability to develop IT systems to meet business needs.
  • Good understanding of benefits in kind, regulations, and payroll processing.
  • Experience using MS Excel/Word and handling sensitive data with a high degree of confidentiality.
