Page Personnel are recruiting for a permanent Payroll Specialist on behalf of a well established accountancy practice based in Bolton.

The purpose of this role is to assist in the timely and accurate processing of payroll for the clients of the practice.

Page Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a well established accountancy practice based in Bolton.

Established for over 50 years the business has gone from strength to strength and now boasts of a team of around 20 full time accountants in addition to admin & payroll staff.

Description

Payroll specialist duties will include:

  • Calculating and customising payslips.
  • Processing starter & leaver information.
  • Manual calculations of statutory payments including SSP, SMP etc.
  • Completion of year end tax returns on behalf of clients.
  • Dealing with clients PAYE accounts and RTI submissions.
  • Input of payroll journals.
  • Keeping up to date with legislation and rates for statutory payments.
  • Assisting clients with queries around pay.

Profile

The successful Payroll Specialist candidate will:

  • Have a proven track record in a similar role (bureau / practice payroll)
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines
  • CIPP qualification is desirable (not essential)
  • Knowledge of Sage payroll would be beneficial (not essential)
  • Be an excellent written and verbal communicator
  • Be proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel
