Fawkes and Reece are currently recruiting for a freelance Project Quantity Surveyor to start ASAP for a 10 month project based in Bolton. This will be a site based role, working 5 days a week in Bolton.

The Role

The project is a £23 million scheme compromising of two industrial warehouse builds.

Responsibilities for the Quantity Surveyor

  • Preparation of bills and/or schedules for quantities of materials, labour and services required in the construction and refurbishment of building works in relation to both Estimating and Post contract duties.
  • Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client.
  • Sub-contract procurement including sending out enquiries, collating prices, negotiation, order placement
  • Sub-contract valuations and payments in connection with any contract.
  • Preparation of internal cost reporting measures.
  • Maintaining quality control procedures.
  • Health & Safety management.
  • Undertaking all tasks in a timely fashion and as required by management.
  • Ensure cash flow is maximised.

Requirements for the Quantity Surveyor

  • Minimum 4 years previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience working on main contractor side on a industrial projects
  • Including, Pricing & forecasting, Procurement (materials, plant, labour), and Subcontractor management

Preferable

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management
  • Main contracting experience on new build high-rise residential projects
