The Role:Theyare seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in house building to join their team. The successful candidate will have experience working for reputable house-building firms and will be responsible for managing the cost control, financial planning, and procurement processes on multiple residential projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for house-building projects from inception to completion.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning, ensuring value for money without compromising on quality.
- Manage the procurement of subcontractors and materials, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor and track project costs, identifying potential variances and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, and costs, liaising with project teams to resolve any issues.
- Prepare accurate tender documentation and assist with the selection and negotiation of contractors.
- Prepare monthly cost reports for senior management, highlighting key issues, project status, and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide support to project managers and senior management in all financial matters related to house-building projects.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the residential sector, particularly in house building.
- Previous experience working with reputable house-building firms is essential.
- A degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (RICS accredited preferred).
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control procedures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using Quantity Surveying software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work to tight deadlines.
