The Role:Theyare seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in house building to join their team. The successful candidate will have experience working for reputable house-building firms and will be responsible for managing the cost control, financial planning, and procurement processes on multiple residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for house-building projects from inception to completion.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning, ensuring value for money without compromising on quality.
  • Manage the procurement of subcontractors and materials, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor and track project costs, identifying potential variances and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, and costs, liaising with project teams to resolve any issues.
  • Prepare accurate tender documentation and assist with the selection and negotiation of contractors.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports for senior management, highlighting key issues, project status, and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide support to project managers and senior management in all financial matters related to house-building projects.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the residential sector, particularly in house building.
  • Previous experience working with reputable house-building firms is essential.
  • A degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (RICS accredited preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control procedures.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using Quantity Surveying software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work to tight deadlines.
