Youth Worker / Behaviour assistant

Empowering Learning are working closely with a vibrant school in Bolton tosupport the development of children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, SEMH, ensuring they receive the best support to succeed academically and personally within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small inclusion group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Develop and implement individualised strategies to manage behaviour and support emotional regulation.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment that encourages positive interactions and emotional well-being.
  • Assist students in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with class teachers to plan and deliver tailored interventions.
  • Assist in creating and adapting resources to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SENCO.

Requirements

  • Some experience working with special needs children is preferred but not essential.
  • Passion for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Youth work, Behavioural mentor/support background ideally.
