Attendance Officer 2 Posts

37 hours per week (Term-Time Only) 36 weeks per year

Salary £23,417 - £24,422 (Actual Salary:£18,823.67 - £19,631.53)

We believe that regular attendance is crucial for student success and are looking for two dedicated Attendance Officers to join our team. As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in promoting and ensuring high levels of student attendance. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to identify and address attendance issues, signposting where necessary.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of attendance management systems is an advantage.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track student attendance daily.
  • Record student absences in line with the College absence notification process and reasons for absence
  • Assist with the resolution of day-to-day queries from academic and support staff whether by telephone, electronic mail or face-to-face
  • Identify patterns of absenteeism and lateness.
  • Liaise with students, parents, and staff to address attendance concerns.
  • Implement strategies to improve attendance rates.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and produce reports.
  • Work collaboratively with the pastoral team to support student wellbeing.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to the development of attendance policies.
