The successful candidate will be responsible for providing one-on-one and group support to students with diverse learning needs, helping to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a range of SEN including autism, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities
  • Provide one-to-one support to students who require additional assistance
  • Encourage and promote independence, social skills, and emotional wellbeing in students
  • Monitor and track progress, ensuring that the individual needs of each child are being met
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • Create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment
  • Follow school policies and procedures for safeguarding and health and safety

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a UK school setting, specifically supporting students with SEN
  • A recognised qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (Level 2 or 3)
  • Strong understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and related policies
  • Excellent communication skills, both with students and staff
  • A proactive, patient, and caring attitude
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to providing the best support for children with special educational needs

Desirable:

  • Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, or other complex needs
  • Team Teach or similar positive behaviour management training
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
