Butler Rose is partnering with a leading large manufacturing client to offer an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager/Supplier Development Manager to join the Sub-Assemblies team. Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience Location: Bolton or Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role) Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification. Security Clearance: Must be a British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions relating to nationality and rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) as a minimum requirement. This role has become available due to the increased ramp-up of deliveries. You will play a key role in ensuring supplier performance, capability, and risk management across various programs. Key Responsibilities: * Manage a portfolio of suppliers, ensuring effective performance and addressing supply chain risks. * Improve supplier performance (delivery and quality) using lean methodologies. * Conduct capacity audits to identify bottlenecks, resources, and sub-tier mapping. * Assess supplier capabilities to meet both current and future delivery profiles. * Develop and implement root cause analysis and improvement plans using techniques like DMAIC. * Identify, escalate, and mitigate supply chain risks, and implement associated improvement plans. * Provide analysis and executive summaries on supplier performance. * Support supply chain excellence initiatives within the department. What the client is looking for: * Ideally, degree-calibre with experience in international high-technology companies. * Experience in Supply Chain Management or Supplier Development in Aerospace, Defence, or Manufacturing sectors. * Proven ability to improve supplier performance through effective tools and methodologies. * Strong problem-solving skills and experience with DMAIC for root cause analysis. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills. * Experience with SC21 Practitioner is desirable.
