About the Role:A highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Accountant is sought to join our Finance Team within a regulatory organisation. This key role supports financial reporting requirements, particularly in managing tax functions.

As part of its 2025 strategy, the organisation is committed to modernisation and transparency, investing in digital technologies and skills to enhance regulatory processes and information management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on tax-related matters, liaising with HMRC, the National Audit Office, Shared Services providers, and the Tax Centre of Excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with financial accounting standards and policies while providing accurate financial information.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting systems for timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyse and interpret complex financial data, presenting clear management information.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting and tax processes while ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and policies.
  • Communicate financial insights effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualified accountant or actively working towards an accountancy qualification.
  • Proven experience in tax-related matters, including PAYE, VAT, and Corporation Tax.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

Location & Hybrid Working:This role can be based at offices in Bootle. A hybrid working policy is in place, with some office attendance expected to support collaboration and business needs. Some UK travel may be required.

Security Clearance:This role requires baseline personnel security standard (BPSS) checks.
