Join Our Client's Tax Department as a Tax Associate!

Adele Carr Recruitment is seeking a talented Tax Associate to enhance our client's tax department. This exciting role involves managing a diverse portfolio of clients and providing tax compliance services across both corporate and personal tax.

Who We're Looking For: The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in personal tax and some experience with corporate tax. While the position primarily focuses on compliance, there will be ample opportunities to engage in tax planning and advisory projects as you grow in your role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage your own portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate compliance work.
  • Conduct corporation tax reviews and prepare corporation tax returns.
  • Report directly to the Tax Manager.

Duties Include:

  • Completing self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships, LLPs, sole traders, and capital gains tax.
  • Preparing forms P11D and handling related benefit-in-kind matters.
  • Communicating with clients via phone, letters, and meetings.
  • Corresponding with HMRC.
  • Preparing and reviewing tax and capital allowances computations.
  • Submitting company tax returns.
  • Monitoring tax payment deadlines and advising clients accordingly.
  • Recording billable hours and maintaining accurate timesheets.
  • Assisting with various ad hoc tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the tax department.
  • Participating in team meetings and engaging in training opportunities such as tax webinars and courses.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven personal tax experience in a practice setting.
  • Experience with corporate tax is a plus.
  • ATT/CTA qualified, part qualified, or qualified by experience.
  • Proficient in tax software, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Windows applications. Familiarity with Iris Accountancy Suite is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the confidence to interact with clients.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • A commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Trust experience is an advantage but not essential.
