Your new companyI am working with a school in the Bootle area who are looking for an experienced level 2 Teaching Assistant for a 1:1 role in the year 1 class. The school is looking for someone to work until at least Christmas, with a possible extension in the new year depending on funding. Your new roleThe school is looking for someone to support a child with global delay and additional needs, including challenging behaviour at times. The child is in year 1 and needs support to engage in the curriculum, within classroom activities and may sometimes need to be taken out of the classroom if they are struggling. You will support the teacher with general classroom duties, as well as supporting small groups with lower ability. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful with your application, you need full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days of referenceable experience supporting children and young people in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Previous experience working with children/students between the ages of 5-11
  • An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning is advantageous but not essential
  • The ability to take a person-centred approach to learning
