About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen at one of our Schools in Liverpool. They are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their science department. They are looking for a proactive individual who is passionate about supporting high-quality science education for their students. You will be responsible for providing technical support to teaching staff and ensuring the smooth and safe operation of practical science lessons.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, set up, and maintain equipment and materials for science practical lessons, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Ensure laboratories, prep rooms, and equipment are cleaned and maintained to health and safety standards.
- Assist in the development of practical experiments and resources for lessons.
- Provide technical support to teaching staff and students during experiments.
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH and CLEAPSS guidelines.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- A background in science, with a minimum of GCSEs in Science (or equivalent). A-level or higher qualifications in a science subject would be advantageous.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment or similar technical role.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures, especially within a lab setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support both students and staff.
