About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen at one of our Schools in Liverpool. They are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their science department. They are looking for a proactive individual who is passionate about supporting high-quality science education for their students. You will be responsible for providing technical support to teaching staff and ensuring the smooth and safe operation of practical science lessons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, set up, and maintain equipment and materials for science practical lessons, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Ensure laboratories, prep rooms, and equipment are cleaned and maintained to health and safety standards.
  • Assist in the development of practical experiments and resources for lessons.
  • Provide technical support to teaching staff and students during experiments.
  • Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH and CLEAPSS guidelines.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • A background in science, with a minimum of GCSEs in Science (or equivalent). A-level or higher qualifications in a science subject would be advantageous.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment or similar technical role.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures, especially within a lab setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support both students and staff.
