Prospero Teaching are looking to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work with a welcoming primary school in the L20 area, to support a child with complex needs. The successful candidate will work 1:1 with the child, with teachers, and other professionals to ensure the child's safety, development, and access to learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide tailored support to the child, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning activities.
  • Establish positive relationships with the child and interact according to their individual needs.
  • Encourage the child to interact with peers and participate in classroom activities.
  • Set challenging yet achievable goals to promote self-esteem and independence.
  • Provide feedback on the child's progress and achievements under the guidance of the teacher.
  • Support teachers in planning and delivering learning activities.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working with Children.
  • Previous experience supporting people with additional needs.
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as Safeguarding training is provided)

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide minimum of two professional references.
