Letterpress Printer/ Platemaking Location: BootleType: Permanent Hours: Days, Monday Friday Benefits: 23 holidays + BH, Attendance Bonus, Private Medical, Company Pension etc.Our client a printing company who are part of a global group, is looking for an experienced Printer to work at their facility based in Bootle. The successful Candidate will play a vital role in the various printing processes (platemaking, print finishing, letterpress etc and part of a very successful team. The Role:ØLetterpress operation mounting printing plates, setting packing and ink flow to achieve accurately positioned, clean and legible printed material. Operating both platen and cylinder presses.ØPlatemaking making letterpress plates for use on Heidelberg printing presses.ØGuillotine operating a programmable Polar 92 Guillotine.ØPrint finishing set up and operation of folding, laminating, folder gluer, stitching and drilling machines. This part of the job will also involve specialized hand finishing. (Full training will be given).ØEnsure that implementation of all print literature and material are co-ordinated and carried out in accordance with Company policies and using appropriate systems and documents.ØAn opportunity to learn to operate a digital press and train to use industry standard software, such as; Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.ØThe job holder shall ensure thatØAll working areas are kept clean and tidy and that all work areas are left clean and in order at the end of the working day. ØThat hazardous chemicals and soiled cloths are contained and disposed of safely. ØData Protection Security is maintained at all times ØAll procedures are carried out correctly and safely, safety equipment is used where appropriate, and compliance with the Company policy for discipline and Health and Safety is maintained at all times.ØAny shortage of materials within the department is reported to the Works Manager or Supervisor.The Person: ØWill hold a GCSE (or equivalent in Maths & English)ØExperience in a printing environment essential ØExperience of machine printing ØKnowledge of conventional/ digital printing essential ØWill have ideally used Heidelberg print-presses, guillotines, print finishing techniques, letterpress etc. ØNeat and tidy appearance, articulate, punctual, dependable ØHardworking and a team player.
