Are you passionate about supporting young people as they transition to independent living? Service Care Solutions are looking for an enthusiastic Personal Advisor to join an established Leaving Care Team. Based in various locations across the borough, this rewarding role offers an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of care leavers, empowering them to achieve positive outcomes.

  • £21.00 LTD per hour inclusive of holiday pay
  • 36 hours per week
  • 2 month initial contract with possibility of extension after this

ResponsibilitiesAs a Personal Advisor, you will:

  • Provide practical advice and support to care leavers, enhancing their financial capability, access to education, employment, and housing, and promoting engagement in community life.
  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and reviewing individual Pathway Plans, ensuring a person-centred approach.
  • Facilitate contact with birth families, supervise interactions when required, and coordinate service provisions.
  • Support young people in maintaining their health and well-being and accessing specialist services as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for care leavers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, adhering to data protection regulations.
  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with legislation and local procedures.

RequirementsWe're looking for candidates with:

  • A Level 3 qualification in working with children and young people.
  • Knowledge of children and young people's development, family dynamics, and the challenges faced by care leavers.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
  • Experience in direct work with young people and a commitment to improving their outcomes.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks and statutory guidance (desirable).
  • A valid driving license (casual car user designation).
