Are you a passionate and committed Qualified Social Worker looking to make a meaningful impact in Children's Services?

We have an exciting locum opportunity within a dynamic Duty and Assessment Team in the Sefton, Merseyside area. You'll collaborate with dedicated professionals who share your commitment to providing high-quality, child-centred support to children in need.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to new referrals from professionals and the public with care and diligence.
  • Conduct assessments of need, investigate allegations, and ensure the protection of children and young people from harm.
  • Manage a varied and complex caseload with professionalism and empathy.
  • Write concise, clear reports tailored to the needs of the situation.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team and with external agencies to deliver comprehensive support.

To be considered for this role, you should ideally have:

  • Experience in a Children's Duty and Assessment team (preferred).
  • Social Work qualification
  • Social Work England registration number
  • Proven skills in engaging children and young people using a variety of direct work methods.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding principles and relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance in children's social care.
  • An ability to assess and manage risk effectively.
  • A commitment to maintaining up-to-date and accurate records.
