Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to provide support to the manufacturing department and the facility. The role will support with repairing and maintaining all machines, tools, fixtures and other equipment used in the manufacturing process including the preparing procedures (work instructions) for all manufacturing process equipment.
As an environmental waste technician, under general direction, sort and consolidate waste materials which consist of emptying most classes of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes from containers and dumping the contents into drums and other larger containers.
Responsibilities:
Work Centre Lead
• Coordinate and prioritize work schedules and assignments within the work centre.
• Monitor incoming and outgoing work for quality.
• Inter-team communication.
• Practice Continuous Process Improvement within the work centre.
Maintenance Coordinator
• Install, maintain, and repair all manufacturing process equipment, tools and fixtures in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules, prints, specifications, rough sketches or verbal instructions.
• Trouble shoot machinery breakdowns and repair or replace defective equipment and components following the same instruction set as indicated above.
• Plan, purchase supplies, and install electrical service for new and/or relocated production machinery.
• Modify/update production equipment as needed.
• Document and maintain up to date procedures (work instructions) for all manufacturing process equipment.
• Assist in operator training and establishment of maintenance programs for new manufacturing tools and equipment.
• Participate in the selection of new manufacturing process equipment. • Calibrate tools, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
• Correct safety discrepancies as needed.
Environmental Waste Technician
• Oversee permitting of industrial discharges and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for local, state, and federal agencies, conduct compliance meetings with industrial users.
• Active member of the "Hazardous Material Leak Reaction Team".
General
• Understand, support, and practice the Quality Assurance policy as required by the ISO 9001.
• Provide facilities maintenance support
Education / Experience
• ONC/HNC in Engineering discipline or appropriate years of engineering expertise or 5 or more years of equipment and building maintenance experience.
• COSHH certified or experience necessary
• Competent PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Compensation and Benefits:
• Hours of Work: 38 per week, 8.30 am to 5.30 pm (half hour lunch) Monday - Thursday, 8.30 am to 12.30 pm Friday.
