We have excellent opportunity for a Dispatch Operative to work for a manufacturing company based in Bordon, Hampshire. Please see further details below:

Roles: Dispatch Operative

Location: Bordon, Hampshire

Duration: Temp-to-perm (Permanent work for the right candidate)

Rate: 12.25 - 13.72/hour

Working Hours: 7.30am-5.30pm Monday to Thursday, 7.30am-12.15pm Friday

About The Role

The Dispatch Operative will be responsible for coordinating the timely dispatch and delivery of goods from the manufacturing facility to customers or distribution centres. This role involves managing schedules, overseeing the preparation of orders, and maintaining effective communication with other internal departments. . Dispatch officer is expected to meet customer demands and requirements through the timely completion of work and to provide good internal customer service across the various functions on site. The post holder should show good attention to detail through the completion of all required paperwork to the required standard to maintain good traceability of dispatch operations.

This is not just a hands on role and will involve some work using a computer so interested candidates must be computer literate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Receive, verify, and process customer orders for delivery.
  • Schedule and oversee the dispatch of goods to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with the production team to monitor stock levels and ensure accurate order fulfilment.
  • Prepare and maintain dispatch documents by ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies & ensure to maintain full traceability of dispatch documents..
  • Respond to delivery issues, emergencies, or delays, adjusting dispatch schedules if necessary.
  • Utilize computer systems to track orders, schedule deliveries, and update status in real-time.
  • Generate and present daily, weekly, and monthly dispatch and delivery reports to Line manager.
  • To Liaise with production and quality department to ensure a good quality of parts & timely delivery of parts to customers.
  • Ensure all parts received in the dispatch area is transacted and processed in a timely manner.
  • To be responsible for final inspection of the parts before shipping.
  • To be responsible for housekeeping and SHE practices in the department.
  • To inspect products to the required customer standard.
  • To report any non-conforming product via the correct channels.
  • To pack products to the required customer standard.
  • To ensure products are labelled correctly.

Essential job specific key skills required:

  • Prior experience of working within a manufacturing environment
  • Attention to detail for ensuring accuracy in dispatch orders, documentation, and scheduling.
  • Should be able to read and interpret written work instructions & drawings
  • Good communicative skills and team player. Self starter
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
  • Presentable with a professional outlook and good time keeping
  • Good standards of literacy and numeracy
  • Highly Motivated Individual with a positive attitude and flexible approach to work
  • Totally customer focused with a determination to succeed

Desirable job specific skills & experience:

  • Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or dispatch roles, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
  • Proficiency in logistics/dispatch software
