I am currently working with a growing and well-respected accountancy firm who are looking to bring an Audit & Accounts Senior on board to their offices based in Borehamwood. The role is ideal for someone with at least two years of post-qualification experience who's confident managing audits from planning through to completion, while also mentoring junior team members and contributing to their development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead audit engagements across a varied client portfolio - from planning through to finalisation - ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal standards
  • Prepare statutory accounts for Limited companies and Partnerships
  • Identify key risks during audit planning and tailor audit programmes accordingly
  • Draft audit planning documentation, including budgets and schedules, in a timely manner
  • Perform and review substantive testing, ensuring any errors are addressed and resolved
  • Coordinate and manage audit teams, keeping assignments on track and within budget
  • Provide hands-on support and technical guidance to junior team members
  • Respond to audit review queries and prepare audit reports and management letters
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Liaise with HMRC and other external bodies where necessary
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate client records, ensuring confidentiality is upheld
  • Ensure client work is completed within deadlines and manage expectations proactively
  • Support managers in identifying training needs and mentoring junior staff to help them progress

What We're Looking For:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or nearing completion)
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in practice
  • Strong audit and accounts preparation background
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as Xero, Sage, CCH, and Caseware
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • A proactive approach and commitment to delivering high-quality client service
