Accounts Assistant

£33k

Perm - Elstree

An immediate opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a successful, well established, growing construction business - this role will be based in Elstree. The successful individual will support the finance team with transactional finance mainly within purchase ledger and month end.

Key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant will be:

Payroll

  • Efficiently preparing weekly site wages

Purchase Ledger

  • Ensuring that supplier invoices are processed accurately on a timely basis
  • Reconciling supplier statements on a regular basis
  • Handling disputed invoices with suppliers and ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner
  • Maintaining the supplier ledger - setting up new suppliers with all required information on Sage 50.
  • Making sure supplier details are kept up to date.
  • Querying invoices with suppliers
  • Ensuring the Accounts email is always monitored and all queries are resolved promptly.
  • Answering and resolving queries by phone and email in a timely manner

Month End Support

  • Assist in the month end shutdown and support the commercial team in providing cost analysis

Annual Audit

  • Assist in the company's year-end audit

The ideal Accounts Assistant will possess the following attributes/skills:

  • 2+ years previous Purchase ledger experience
  • Microsoft Excel and Sage 50 experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Fast learner
  • Passionate about learning and looking for a progressive environment
  • AAT qualification or desire to study
  • Construction experience desirable
