Join our dynamic Technical Services team, where your expertise in fire door inspections will play a crucial role in safeguarding standards and delivering top-notch service! Technical Services Operatives will directly undertake fire door inspection routines reporting to the Head of Technical Services. They must utilize the equipment, materials and other resources made available to them, and work in collaboration with team members and contractors to ensure the highest quality of service is provided

The Technical Services Operative should:

  • Conduct quarterly inspections of all common part fire doors across various sites.
  • Perform annual inspections of flat front doors to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Identify and report any defects, wear and tear, or non-compliance issues utilising dedicated software.
  • Maintain detailed records of all inspections, including dates, findings and actions taken.
  • Stay up to date with the latest fire safety regulations and standards.
  • Participate in fire safety audits and reviews as required.
  • Communicate effectively with building managers, residents, and other stakeholders regarding fire safety issues and inspection schedules.
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to fire safety and door inspections.

The Person

  • Experience as a Fire Door Inspector or a similar role in fire safety is desirable but not required.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and openness to learning.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential safety hazards.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection schedules.
  • Good communication skills
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.

Highly Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledgeable of fire doors compliance with relevant codes and standards

  • Have completed FDIS and IOSH training
