A business in Borehamwood are seeking a Finance Team Leader/Manager to join their organisation. This role will support the Financial Controller in ensuring a smooth running for the accounts department.

We are seeking a candidate who has proven experience of managing and shaping transactional finance staff. You will be a great people leader and someone who is able to bring a team together and improve output.

This position requires someone who is solution focused and will go above and beyond for the team they manage. You will also work closely with other areas of the business especially IT, so you will be able to build strong working relationships with people at all levels within the company.

Much of the work will be across multiple systems and although you are not expected to know every system, it is imperative that you are able pick-up new systems quickly and enjoy working with various technologies.

It should be noted that this role will start as a full-time office role - there is scope that once up and running their may be scope for some days working from home.

Key role responsibilities:

  • People management - mentoring, supporting and training the staff to ensure the team are hitting their deliverables
  • Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
  • Solution focused - taking on inherited problems and fixing it
  • Process improvement
  • Reconciliations
  • Working with IT
  • Managing the Direct Debits
  • Month end responsibilities

Key experience/characteristics required:

  • Proven people management experience within transactional finance
  • Knowledge of Accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control
  • Strong reconciliation experience
  • Strong ability at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience of managing complaints
  • Some experience of Financial Services or FCA regulations would be highly desirable
  • Strong IT skills
  • Systems experience
