Head of Finance£80,000 - £95,000Are you a Qualified Accountant looking for a step into a Head of Finance role within a leading services business? Aila is exclusively partnered with an organisation near Borehamwood that has been delivering the highest level of service since their inception.About the Company:

The Role:The Head of Finance has responsibility for all financial aspects of the company, including ensuring cash balances are adequate and debtor levels are controlled, suppliers are paid in a timely manner, all financial transactions are recorded accurately and reporting to the company is meaningful and accurate. You will report to the CFO and take complete ownership of the monthly operations of the finance department.Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing Cashflow on a regular basis to ensure sufficient cover
  • Production of monthly management accounts and communication with key stakeholders including shareholders, bank and funders
  • Liaison with professional advisors on production of annual statutory accounts and associated corporation tax calculations in line with statutory timetables
  • Production and payment of VAT returns in line with statutory timetables
  • Overseeing the efficient and accurate processing of all financial transactions
  • Working with departmental managers to continuously improve transaction processing and customer experience
  • Production of timely and accurate financial analysis on all aspects of company performance
  • Provision of suggested customer pricing and other tender documentation.
  • Oversee effective recovery of all customer debt
  • Annual budget setting and periodic financial reforecasting
  • Manage a small finance team including setting of team objectives, KPI targets and monitoring performance
  • Overseeing supplier relations and procurement to ensure value maximised at all times.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA Accountant with at least 5 years’ experience in Finance
  • Previous experience in a month-end finance role, ideally within an SME taking control of everything
  • Prior management exposure with comfort leading on month & year-end
  • Passionate about continuous improvement with a commercial mindset
  • Excellent Excel skills and the ability to process complex data sets
