As our Retail Manager for the North Cornwall portfolio, youāll play an important part in helping people enjoy their day. And youāll be generating crucial funds for the National Trust to invest in protecting and caring for places, so people and nature can thrive. The portfolio consists of two shops, Boscastle Harbour and Carnewas. Boscastle is open all year round and Carnewas trades March-October.
Hours: Working 37.5Ā hours per week, with a usual working pattern of shifts normally 10-5 but changes in the summer and winter..
Salary: Ā£29.500Ā per annum

What it's like to work hereReporting to the Area Manager, you'll be leading a team of 10+ retail assistants and 3+ retail volunteers. You'll be part of the leadership team within the North Cornwall portfolio, and will work closely with the General Manager and the wider team, actively involved in making decisions that affect the whole place.Ā Ā

What you'll be doingYour focus every day will be on your customers: going out of your way to make sure theyāre having their best possible day. You'll lead your team from the front, encouraging them to speak to people and listen to what they want. And also to inspire them, so that everyone who buys something knows just what a difference their contribution, however small, will make to the work of the Trust in protecting nature, beauty and history.Ā You'll set stretching targets for the team, and work together to achieve these through the highest standards of customer service and presentation of retail products.

Who we're looking for We'd love to hear from you, if youāre:- an experienced retail manager, familiar with standard processes (including selling, merchandising, space management, stock control, risk)
- skilled in coaching, developing and leading teamsĀ
- experienced in managing rotas and recruiting staff
- adept at getting maximum sales out of a retail outletĀ Ā
