GSL Education is presently looking to hire a Teaching Assistant for secondary schools in Lincoln.

Job Summary:

  • Supervise students during class activities and ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Provide individual or small group support to students who need extra help.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.

Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons by preparing materials, setting up equipment, and supporting students during activities and group work.
  • Provide one-to-one or a small class support to students who require additional help with understanding concepts, completing tasks, or staying focused.
  • Implement positive behavior management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support teachers in managing classroom behavior by providing reinforcement, redirection, and encouragement to students.
  • Work with teachers to differentiate instruction and adapt learning activities to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students.
  • TAs may be asked to work in student’s homes, deliver online work and extension activities to challenge advanced learners and scaffold learning for students who require additional assistance.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a secondary school setting.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field.
  • Must have knowledge about the curriculum.
