Night Shift Engineering Team LeaderWe’re looking for an experienced Night Shift Engineering Team Leader with a strong electrical background to lead our night shift engineering team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage engineering resources, prioritise work, and drive improvements to minimise downtime and keep operations running smoothly.The RoleYou’ll be responsible for managing internal and external engineering teams, ensuring that planned maintenance (PPM) schedules are followed and work is completed to a high standard. You’ll carry out root cause analysis to reduce downtime and support operators and engineers with training and upskilling. A key part of the role will be implementing improvements on-site and maintaining accurate records of failures and repairs.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the night shift engineering team to maintain high operational standards.
  • Ensure PPM plans are followed and updated as needed.
  • Respond to breakdowns, analyse issues, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage contractors and ensure work meets safety and quality standards.
  • Provide training to operators and engineers to improve performance.
  • Maintain clear, accurate records using the company’s maintenance management system.
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Support site audits and address any concerns promptly.
  • Keep workshop and facilities clean and organised.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years’ experience as a multi-skilled engineer, ideally in food manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role within engineering.
  • Strong electrical skills with the ability to read and modify CAD and electrical drawings.
  • Experience managing contractors and external resources.
  • IT literate, with experience using maintenance systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
Hours
  • Monday – Friday, 17:30 – 02:00
  • Expected hours: 40 per week
