With this in mind, they are now looking for an Interim Head of Finance to join them on a 6 month fixed term contract basis to help the group to set up processes and procedures to transition the business in readiness for future investments.

Role Overview:

The Interim Head of Finance will be responsible for helping the group to set up the necessary processes and to put in place procedures to transition the business, so it is all set up for future investments. Also ensure that all financial operations of the company are running efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with relevant regulations. This is a key interim role, responsible for guiding the finance team and reporting on financial performance, while also helping the business navigate through transitional periods and manage strategic financial decisions. This role is expected to be interim and will play a critical part in driving the business toward its short-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership and Strategy:

  • Lead and manage the finance department to ensure effective and accurate financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the companys objectives.
  • Provide senior leadership with timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reports, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure that financial KPIs are met.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Oversee the preparation and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, financial policies, and internal controls.
  • Prepare and present financial reports for the board, executive team, and external stakeholders as required.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Ensure accuracy and alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Provide ongoing analysis of budget variances and develop corrective actions when needed.
  • Advise on the financial implications of strategic initiatives and decisions.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure the company maintains adequate liquidity and financial stability.
  • Ensure the timely collection of receivables and management of payables.
  • Oversee treasury operations and optimize cash management strategies.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support in the performance of their duties.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
  • Ensure the finance team is adequately resourced and trained to meet the evolving needs of the business.

Risk Management and Internal Controls:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to ensure the companys assets are protected.
  • Review and strengthen internal controls to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.
  • Oversee the audit process and work closely with external auditors to ensure successful completion of audits.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Act as a key point of contact for external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulators.
  • Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders, ensuring they understand key financial metrics and implications.

Project Management:

  • Support strategic projects and initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, financial system upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and drive business performance.

Key Requirements:

Experience: Considerable experience in finance, including significant experience at a senior level. Prior experience as a Head of Finance, Finance Director, or CFO is preferred.

Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.

Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in managing and developing teams.

Financial Acumen: In-depth knowledge of financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and provide financial insights to inform business decisions.

Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial regulations, and tax laws.

Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in financial software with experience of using Zero or similar packages and advanced Excel skills.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner to non-financial stakeholders.

Interim Experience: Previous experience in an interim or temporary leadership role within finance is advantageous.
