We are seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to join a dynamic team in Spalding. This full-time cover position is available immediately and will run until Christmas, with the potential for extension. The role involves teaching KS3 and one bottom set Year 10 class, with a full timetable that includes free periods allocated for marking and other activities.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons to KS3 students and a Year 10 bottom set class.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments in line with curriculum standards.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback and support to facilitate improvement.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment.
  • Use free periods effectively for marking, planning, and other teaching-related activities.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a specialist in Mathematics.
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary school level, including KS3 and GCSE.
  • Strong understanding of the Maths curriculum and current teaching practices.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Ability to start immediately and commit to the duration of the cover position.
