37 hours per week
Monday to Friday, normal hours 8.30am to 5pm.
Purpose of the Brokerage Officer role-
To promote independence for customers with specific care requirements, to ensure that dignity is at the heart of their care and support.
Ensure a person-centred approach that promotes independence, choice and control.
Continuously build knowledge within the team to keep pace with demand and operate smoothly to place clients/customers with the right care, right price, right place.
Key Responsibilities-
Source a variety of care provision as requested by practitioners on a rotation basis within the Team for some or specific customer groups (CAT/Hospital, Community, Mental Health and Learning Disability) as required.
Liaise with providers, negotiate to bring costs within budget/agreed fee levels, influence, shape potential options ensuring a match of provision, capacity and availability with providers and confirm/negotiate fee levels/costs for approval
Dealing with billing within line with the care packages.
Respond to queries from team members as part of a service wide culture of support and coaching.
Engage and input into Service User Guide as changes occur and new items emerge.
Specific Qualifications and Experience-
3 A levels, NVQ 3, HND or diploma (or equivalent experience)
Ideal background and experience-
Experience of brokering care including interpreting care needs and matching potential provision.
Knowledge of current practices used when brokering care and support.
Knowledge of the customer journey with other supporting teams.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory duties and best practice in relation to brokering care and support packages and financial arrangements.
Experienced in working independently, to a high standard, and within given time scales.
