Purchase Ledger Clerk

Job Type: Temporary

Location: Bournemouth

Hourly Rate: £13.00ph   

We are seeking a dedicated Purchase Ledger Clerk to support our client on a temporary basis. This role will be office working, Monday to Friday, located in Bournemouth.

Day-to-day of a purchase ledger clerk:

  • Provide advice, information, guidance, and support to both internal and external stakeholders on financial regulations and purchasing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with the organisation’s purchasing regulations and procedures for all purchase orders and credit card transactions.
  • Support the Procurement Manager in strategic procurement initiatives and provide administrative support as needed.
  • Processing of purchase ledger /accounts payable invoices and expenses, in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring invoices are coded to the correct budget code and sent to the correct budget approver.
  • Resolving supplier queries and performing supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Helping manage a shared email mailbox, where most supplier invoices, statements and queries are received.

Required Skills & Qualifications for this role as a purchase ledger clerk:

  • Experience in managing purchase ledgers, processing invoices, and handling supplier transactions.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring reliability and consistency in financial data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle queries related to purchasing and invoice payments.
  • Ability to plan and organise workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and flexibility to take on additional duties as required.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and software, with a capability to produce detailed financial and procurement reports.
