Our client, a well-established, leading building contractor, have an excellent opportunity for a Multi Trade Operative to join their growing business. With offices based near Bournemouth, they provide accredited building services to clients throughout the corporate, commercial and public sectors.

We are looking for a Multi Trade Operative to start with immediate effect.

As the Multi Trade Operative, you will work mainly independently and be responsible for various trade jobs around the Dorset and Hampshire areas, ensuring jobs are finished to a good standard and completed in good time. The role is an important one, supporting our client and in turn they will support you too. The person is required to work under pressure and to a high-quality standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake regular jobs including plumbing, carpentry, identifying electrical faults, glazing and decorating
  • Undertake inspections and prepare what is required
  • Ensure all jobs are completed within the necessary timeframes
  • Ensure jobs are recorded in line with company procedures and that there is a clear audit trail
  • Regularly check all safety measure are in place and working
  • Visual checking and practical testing of equipment as necessary
  • Assessment of any urgent remedial work
  • Contribute to general property refurbishments
  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams to ensure contract requirements are met
  • Ensure all work is completed on time and to budget
  • Resolve any issues that may arise
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a multi-trade operative
  • Good communication
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Full driving licence - a vehicle and fuel card will be supplied
  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in the construction industry
  • Able to operate power tools
  • Good overall knowledge of the building industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Full driving licence with the ability to drive a company vehicle
  • This role is based in Dorset and surrounding areas
  • DBS check is required for this role
