We have an opportunity for an experienced HR, Reward Professional with a strong background in complex, large organisations. Reporting to a Reward Programme Lead, you will provide a vital contribution to supporting team activities, including but not limited to:

  • Managing and supporting the salary supplement process and governance arrangements
  • Supervising, coaching and supporting colleagues within the reward team
  • Proactively considering innovative ways to improve the way we work across rewards and benefits
  • Design, develop and present the creation of new tools to enable managers
  • Make recommendations to become an employer of choice
  • Facilitating and presenting to large audiences or Senior Management teams
  • Proactively manage and take decisions in relation to salary supplements in line with the agreed policies and procedures
  • Work in collaboration with the Senior HR Adviser to supervise Project Officers and Business Support colleagues, to provide a high-performing Reward team, providing insight, advice, and solutions around all areas of the project.
  • Support the Reward Lead in coordinating and implementing the development of People and Culture policies within the Reward team
  • Lead and drive the implementation of a colleague benefits package and recognition platform
  • Monitor trends in pay and reward across the public and private sector, considering salary benchmarking across the region, monitoring how other councils are approaching 'hard to fill or retain' roles, making recommendations to influence decision-making
  • Facilitate colleague information sessions, roadshows, spotlights or other events
  • Lead and facilitate analysis and reporting, including equalities, diversity and inclusion data to understand and influence business as usual approaches, and decision-making across the area of responsibility
  • Support the design of a package to coach, train and develop managers and enable them to support the implementation of the new reward strategy
  • Design information materials and correspondence for colleagues
  • Proactively consider and forward plan project activities
  • Build and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships

Candidates

  • Were seeking an experienced Senior Reward Advisor who has a background of complex large organisations.
  • You must have skills in building and maintaining good relationships at a senior stakeholder level.
  • As a highly organised person you will need to be self-motivated, able to work well under pressure and have the flexibility to adapt to conflicting/ changing priorities.
  • We would particularly welcome applicants with a sound knowledge of large-scale transformation within an organisation.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and rapport quickly.
  • The ability to understand and take a solutions focussed approach as well as being able to motivate, inspire and influence positively and collaboratively.

Offer

  • Starting in December and initially through to 31st March 2025 but longer term potential
  • Contracted via Hays on a weekly time sheet
  • Hybrid working with 1-2 days on site in Bournemouth on a Tuesday
  • £23.37 PAYE inclusive holiday pay / £25.96 umbrella company
