MS513 - HGV Class 2 DriverLocation: BournemouthSalary: £30,000 per annum Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a HGV Class 2 Driver on behalf of one of our clients. The role of the HGV Driver involves loading, delivering and collecting heavy plant equipment to and from the customer sites in a timely and professional manner whilst driving responsibly and safely within the law at all times. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Loading, delivering and collecting heavy plant equipment to and from the customer sites in a timely and professional manner whilst driving responsibly and safely within the law at all times.
  • When on customer sites, there may be a requirement to carry out hire equipment demonstration and the Driver must ensure that all relevant checks and administration involved for the hire are completed accurately.
  • All paperwork associated with deliveries should be accurately completed and debriefed at depot on return with supervisor or nominate person.
  • Inform any delivery issues to our client’s customer service department or depot supervisor via vehicle mobile phone, where applicable and any remedial action taken.
  • Ensure your vehicle is driven in a professional manner, with regard to your safety and damage to the vehicle.
  • Ensure that all Driver, Health & Safety and Food Hygiene legislation is complied with and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Do vehicle safety check before setting off each day.
  • Complete all the deliveries on the daily run allocated to you.
  • Driver load sheets and tachographs to be completed accurately.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Significant experience working within an HGV driving role loading, delivering and collecting heavy plant equipment from customer sites
  • Class 2 driving licence, Driver CPC with a minimum of 35 hours completed and valid Digital Tachograph card
  • Recent experience of towing trailers is essential
  • An understanding of Health & Safety protocols and the ability to follow these guidelines in the workplace
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail
