Information Governance Adviser

About the Role

Provide expert support and guidance on:

  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Freedom of Information Act (FOI)
  • Subject Access Requests (SARs)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and respond to Subject Access and FOI requests
  • Provide advice on information governance, legislation, and policies
  • Analyse and improve records and data management processes
  • Lead or support audits and ensure policy compliance
  • Investigate internal data breaches and support managers through resolution
  • Promote good practice in data handling and confidentiality
  • Develop and maintain records retention and disposal processes

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3 A-levels, NVQ 4, HND or equivalent
  • HR entry-level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of GDPR and related legislation
  • Experience managing Subject Access Requests
  • Confident in using Microsoft Office and HR systems
  • Experience working in a large and complex organisation

  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks

Working Arrangements

  • Hybrid working with some office days
  • 5 hours per day
  • Flexible schedule: Tuesday to Thursday or Wednesday to Friday
