CNC Machinist / Setter / Operator

Our client is a global machinery manufacturer, and they are looking for a CNC Machinist to join their growing team!

Roles and Responsibilities:

Setting / operating CNC Turning machines, including lights out running
Ensure a safe working environment to the individual and any other person
Follow the machining process required ensuring components are machined to correct specifications
Liaise with other team members, including machinists, engineers, and quality inspectors
Escalation of machine malfunctions to initiate corrective actions to minimise downtime and ensure continuous production
Record daily output targets, identifying the issues and potential solutions that contribute to missed targets
Self-inspection of finished parts
Work in compliance with safety policies
Measuring & loading / unloading of tooling
Change tooling / offsets in accordance with dimensions required
Follow engineering drawings and work instructions
Monitor & update daily TPM charts, raising any issues that cannot be resolved to the appropriate line lead / manager
Maintain and improve 5s standards in the cell
Identify and actively be involved in Continuous Improvement activities and events

Ideal Candidate:

Proven experience as a CNC Setter / Operator in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Ability to use precision measuring equipment
Certification from a recognised machining program or apprenticeship (preferable but not essential)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety instructions, standard works and manuals
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Ability to solve minor problems and recognise bigger problems that require supervisor assistance
Ability to work within a team environment
Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet production deadlines

Working Hours:

Monday - Friday (Week 1) 6.00am - 8.45am (30 mins lunch) 9.15am - 2.00pm
Monday - Friday (Week 2) 2.00pm - 7.00pm (30 mins lunch) 7.30pm - 10.00pm
