CNC Setter/Operator, Bournemouth, £43,750

Purpose

We are looking for a skilled CNC Setter/Operator to join our team on a permanent basis, working alternating shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for an machinist with a metal cutting background to operate and maintain state-of-the-art CNC machinery, including 5-axis work on twin spindle/twin turrets and multi turrets. Our client is a leader in precision engineering and delivers advanced fluid handling solutions across the UK.

As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will benefit from a competitive salary of up to £35,000 plus a 25% shift allowance, career development opportunities, and a supportive team environment.

Working Hours (Alternating Shift Pattern):

  • Week 1: Monday - Friday: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm (30 min lunch)
  • Week 2: Monday - Friday: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm (30 min lunch)


As a CNC Setter/Operator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to ensure precision manufacturing
  • Following engineering drawings and machining processes to ensure accurate production
  • Collaborating with engineers, machinists, and quality inspectors to optimize production
  • Escalating machine malfunctions and implementing corrective actions to minimise downtime
  • Achieving and logging daily output targets, identifying and resolving issues that may cause delays
  • Conducting self-inspections of finished parts to ensure quality standards are met

As a CNC Setter/Operator, your experience will include:

  • A background in metal cutting, either milling and turning experience
  • Ideally, having completed an apprenticeship or another relevant qualification.
  • A desire to learn and develop.
