This pivotal role will see you take charge of the digital experience at a leading multichannel retailer, on an exciting growth journey. Reporting into the Director, this role is perfect for someone with a background in digital and omnichannel retail. The primary responsibility will be to enhance business performance through improving conversion rates, basket value, and customer retention across the website, app, and other customer-facing platforms. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, using both data and qualitative insights to craft intuitive, customer-centric product designs that drive measurable success.

Key responsibilities in the position of Head of Digital Experience:

  • Strategic Vision for Digital Experience: Lead the development and execution of the digital experience strategy for the website and app, ensuring alignment with overall business goals. The focus will be on designing intuitive user journeys, creating value-added features, and enhancing customer satisfaction, all while reinforcing the company's core values across digital touchpoints.

  • Overseeing User Experience: Take ownership of the UX function, guiding the team to base design decisions on data-driven insights. This will include customer journey analysis, usability testing, market research, and competitive benchmarking to ensure the design approach is both user-focused and evidence-based.

  • Collaboration with Key Stakeholders: Work closely with the Head of Digital Trading and the Head of Digital Marketing to optimise the performance of digital channels. You will help manage resources and drive adjustments to strategy, while also serving as a key contributor to the Senior Management Team, advocating for the digital channels and guiding the company's broader digital strategy.

  • Cross-Departmental Engagement: Partner with other business units to improve customer retention, optimise the website and app, and build a robust toolkit for the platform. A strong advocate for the customer, this role ensures that all teams remain aligned with a unified customer-first approach.

To be considered for the position of Head of Digital Experience, you will offer the following:
  • At least 5 years track record in a leadership role within digital experience, specifically in retail or direct-to-consumer environments, confident across websites, apps, and other customer-facing digital platforms.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and the product management process, particularly in relation to e-commerce platforms.

  • Proven success in leading digital design initiatives, with a deep understanding of how to apply brand visual identity throughout the customer journey and deliver campaigns that have a tangible impact on business results.
