This role offers the opportunity to manage a talented technical team and oversee the successful delivery of a wide range of events, from live music and theatre to conferences and banquets.As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of productions, from planning and set-up to execution. Your role will involve managing technical staff, liaising with production teams, and ensuring the infrastructure and AV, lighting, and sound systems are up-to-date and operating smoothly.You will work across a variety of venues, including an arena, art-deco ballroom, and 1500-seater theatre, offering a varied and exciting schedule. This role requires strong leadership skills, advanced technical knowledge, and experience within both entertainment and conferencing environments.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical delivery of events, including set-up, equipment hire, and team coordination.
  • Manage contracted and casual technical staff.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Oversee the design, programming, and operation of AV, lighting, and sound systems.
  • Maintain and update venue infrastructure to keep pace with technological advancements.
Experience Required:
  • Proven experience in managing or supervising a technical department.
  • Expertise in live technical event operations, including sound, lighting, staging, and AV.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, BS7909).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work across varied shifts as part of a rota system.
