CMA Executive is delighted to partner with a successful SaaS organisation in the South Coast that has recently secured funding for further growth plans and is now searching for a new CFO to join their Executive Board and help lead the business through its next chapter of progress. Partnering with the CEO directly and acting as a key part of the Operational Board, you will be instrumental in extending the already substantial customer portfolio and scenario planning for the launch of additional products to market. What the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position will involve:

  • Leading a small finance Team and growing, developing members of the function and continuing to grow both capacity and develop efficiency, whilst applying a hands-on approach and leading from the front.
  • Provide sound and insightful financial analysis to support growth and create better understanding of business performance from end to end.
  • As part of an operational Board who have not experienced series of transactions, experience and guidance in this area to the leadership team will be greatly valued.
  • Provide full strategic support for future lending and investment opportunities, partnering with the CEO.
  • Contribute as a key member of a complex Board structure, including shareholders and private equity investors.
  • Develop a robust and workable cash management policy in order to facilitate growth and maintain the value of the business.
  • Act as key figurehead for the business during the point of any future transactions, invoking strong negotiation skills.
  • Support the CEO and Leadership Team in commercial decision making, working through regulatory matters and ensuring there is efficient processes to deliver strategic goals.
  • Manage all relationships with external bodies including Auditors, Banks and advisory services.
  • Oversee all financial regulatory matters and provide support with the review of other regulatory concerns.
  • Act as a leadership presence in the office in the absence of the CEO and support operations.

 Suitable Candidate for the CFO vacancy:

  • Fully qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE.
  • Experience of full financial leadership previously, and evidence of developing others, in particular towards succession planning in the CFO position would be extremely useful.
  • Strong commercial acumen with an appetite to improve processes and be a self-starter.
  • Previous engagement with third party funders, including Private Equity experience will be considered extremely beneficial. Having completed a fruitful shareholder exit/transaction for a business previously is desirable.
  • The role is best suited to someone with some experience of working within a mixture of SME and corporate background, with experience related to Software as a Service,  ICT, IT, B2B industries.
